About JDGS

JDGS Holdings is a privately owned group building and developing specialist businesses across life science, agriculture and technology. The portfolio has grown from the practical development of businesses, research projects, technology and intellectual property rather than from a conventional investment model.

Our businesses operate in distinct fields, but many share common requirements: good infrastructure, sound operations, financial discipline, technical capability and the freedom to develop specialist knowledge over time. JDGS provides those foundations while allowing individual businesses to establish identities appropriate to their own work.

Leadership

Ashley Morgan

Ashley Morgan

Director. Founded the businesses that now form JDGS's Life Science portfolio. She is Chief Executive Officer of The BioChain and Lead Researcher at One Health Security.

John Henderson

John Henderson

Director. Leads technology strategy and infrastructure across the group, including as Chief Technology Officer of The BioChain, where he is responsible for the architecture underpinning its platform.

What connects the portfolio?

At first sight, biological research, agriculture and network infrastructure can appear to have little in common. In practice, the problems encountered across these fields increasingly overlap. Modern research depends on computation and infrastructure. Agriculture depends on biological understanding, data and resilient systems. Health security intersects with animal health, food systems, economics and technology. JDGS is interested in those intersections as much as in the individual disciplines themselves.

Building over time

The group takes a long-term approach. Rather than requiring every project to become a large standalone business immediately, JDGS can allow research, intellectual property, audiences and operational capability to develop progressively. That creates room to explore difficult subjects, test ideas and build specialist organisations around work that proves useful.

Corporate social responsibility

Organisations we support

Across our group, our companies support a small number of organisations whose work connects directly with the fields in which they operate.

Support takes different forms — from product-linked donations and fundraising events to professional expertise, governance and giving our time.

We believe these relationships should have a genuine connection to the work our companies undertake. Our aim is to develop long-term relationships and increase the contribution we can make as those businesses grow.

Medical Research

Florence Ellen Research

Florence Ellen Research is a charity being established to support research into wound healing and burn care, including tissue regeneration and reconstruction, helping advance approaches to recovery, function and scarring. Charity registration is currently pending.

Its work has a natural connection with Noviota's interests in biological science and applied research, including the work developed through Botanicals & Co around skin, botanical science and evidence-led formulation.

Details of its structure, governance and how to support its work will follow once registration is complete.

Agriculture

European Yak Foundation

Our involvement with the European Yak Foundation goes beyond financial support.

Ashley Morgan and John Henderson are founders and board members of the Foundation, contributing their time and experience to its governance and development. We also organise and support events that raise funds for the Foundation and help develop the wider European yak community.

The Foundation's work reflects our interests in animal husbandry, livestock diversity, resilient agriculture and the responsible development of alternative agricultural systems.

It is also an example of what support can mean to us: not simply donating money, but contributing time, leadership, professional expertise and fundraising capability.

Different businesses. Different contributions.

The companies within JDGS operate across very different fields, and their wider commitments reflect that diversity.

Noviota supports medical and scientific research, including fundraising through Botanicals & Co for Florence Ellen Research.

Our agricultural activities contribute through direct participation, governance, events and fundraising for the European Yak Foundation.

As our businesses grow, we intend these contributions to grow with them — financially, professionally and through the skills and capabilities within each company.
